As proud member of the British Toy and Hobby association (BTHA), we source our goods from worldwide suppliers and ensure these suppliers and manufacturers use ethical means to produce our goods. The minimum requirement of a Custom Toys UK supplier is ICTI Ethical Toy Program certification, as well as appropriate factory audit reports (WCA and/or BSCI) from a reputable source with a presence in the European Union such as Intertek.Custom Toys UK will only work with reputable manufacturers who conform to these acceptable working conditions and operating practices laid out in the audit report. Custom Toys UK is committed to conduct its business ethically and in compliance with all applicable laws. This includes compliance with the UK Bribery Act 2010 (the “Bribery Act”). The Bribery Act applies to Custom Toys UK, its Service Providers and Customers.Custom Toys UK has provided you with a copy of this policy as part of our adequate procedures designed to prevent bribery by and through our Service Providers and Customers. Anti- slavery and human trafficking statementCustom Toys UK is one of the UK’s leading specialist designer and manufacturer of toys.Custom Toys UK is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. As such, we take great care in selecting our business partners. We aim to buy products from factories which can demonstrate an awareness of, and comply with, appropriate social and ethical standards and who can demonstrate compliance with relevant local legislation. We undertake all reasonable and practical steps to ensure that our expected standards are being implemented throughout the businesses of our suppliers. These include requiring signed assurances around anti-slavery compliance at supplier on-boarding stage. We also require our suppliers to submit to third- party ethical audits to confirm minimum factory standards with regard to health and safety, wages, working hours, working conditions and labour laws. Safety is at the forefront of our thoughts, right from the planning and design stage of your samples. When turning a design, character or mascot into a plush toy we keep safety regulations in mind. All materials used in manufacturing are guaranteed to be new and free of defect. Custom Toys UK will only work with reputable manufacturers who conform to acceptable working conditions and operating practices. Custom Toys UK prohibits the sourcing of products and or materials from suppliers who impose unethical working conditions and practices on its workers.Applicable Safety StandardsIf distributed within the UK or EU, your plush toys need to meet:EN 71-1:2011 Safety of toys – Part 1: Mechanical and physical properties. Plush toys are subjected to drop tests, push/pull tests, choking/suffocation tests, and sharpness and puncture tests.EN 71-2:2011 Safety of toys – Part 2: Flammability. Plush toys are tested to ensure that they don’t easily ignite.EN 71-3:2013 Safety of toys – Part 3: Migration of certain elements. Tests are run on the plush toy’s materials and its surface coatings to check for harmful substances like lead and mercury.LabellingYour cuddlies will have their own custom sewn-in label. Please ask your account manager for more information should you require safety certification.Are my toys going to be safe for children?As a standard, Custom Toys UK cuddlies are suitable for children 3 years and older. This is due to small parts that can be classed as a choking hazard. Should you require your toys to be suitable for ages 0+ please let your account manager know during the design process as we will need to bear this in mind during all phases of design. Through careful production and testing we can make toys suitable for babies and label them appropriately.
